Mandatory KSeF Implementation Postponed

On January 19, 2024, during a press briefing, Finance Minister Andrzej Domański announced that the implementation of the mandatory National e-Invoice System (KSeF) for entrepreneurs would not be possible this year.

It is worth recalling that the new regulations, which were set to take effect on July 1, 2024, would have required VAT-registered taxpayers to issue invoices exclusively through the KSeF system.

Minister Domański stated that the current state of work on the system makes its implementation impossible, as it would pose a risk to the stability of business operations. The system contains errors, particularly related to throughput, which could cause difficulties for entrepreneurs in issuing structured invoices. Additionally, a tender for an external audit was announced, which is intended to help identify further system flaws.

At this time, it is unclear when KSeF will become mandatory. It was emphasized that the system would be implemented as soon as possible, provided that the security of economic transactions is ensured.
